Another thought occurs. Presumably when Brian says "press the pedal to the floor" he literally means the floor - in which case I could have a spot of bother cutting the wedge stick to length while I'm sat in the driver's seat holding the pedal down. Hmm.

Now where's that glamorous assistant gone?
My golf putter is the exact length for bleeding

It is an alternative to putting cling film over the reservoir, trapped under the cap. It prevents air getting in and so fluid loss once a caliper is removed or a pipe.

It will need to be bled, but what ever method it would need to be bled.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Bleeding.......even easier once everything is connected back up, starting with the NS/R connect your clear bleed pipe and run it into a clear jar placed higer than the bleed screw.

Top up the master cylinder, open the bleed nipple and wait.......gravity will push out the air, and once the bubbles stop, nip up the bleed nipple and repeat on the OS/R.

Make sure the level doesn't drop below the minimum level in the master, and you will be fine.......no air, no pumping the pedal, no fuss and minimum effort

Partial bleeding in this manner is fine when fluid loss has been minimised in the first instance, and is perfectly safe

I seem to remember this in an old trick - I'll have to give it a try.

I do like the sound of this method Brian - no work at all. I'll definitely give this one a go. How much fluid do you put in the jar to start with?

Just enough so the end of the pipe in the jar, remains at all times covered by fluid..

I had one of those soft rubber bleed pipes with a plug in the end and a razor slit in the side near the end. It let fluid out when under pressure but let no air at all back in.

Sadly I've misplaced it but as I haven't had to do brake bleeding for some time I'm praying that I don't have to any more.---
