Hi Martin, nice to see someone from Portugal! I was over there just recently for a couple of weeks, but up in Porto, (where they play the best Football), well, a small village just to the north about 15 k's called Vila-Cha.
Loved it...... A view from the balcany of our appartment.... Bliss! (Sorry to hi-jack).

I had the same thing happen, woke up one morning, mirror dangling. Got one off eBay £25, spent a couple of hours fitting it only to find it was smaller than han the original. Maybe from a 25, l emailed the seller and got a full refund.( nice guy ) l'm still running around with the free mirror no-one else seems to have noticed the oddity.

Mirror repair
Hi Parker,
just completed a mirror repair using your "How To". The repair seems very good and the only thing I found difficult was when tightening the nut, the lower washer tipped to one side trapping the cable. I cured this effect by putting a plastic packing piece above the lower washer. It was a circular piece cut from a push on garden hose connector, with a small section removed for the cable, to form a "C" shape. This tightened up O.K. and I used thread lock on the nut. Thanks very much for your original post, saved me lots of money. Cheers, Pete.

Gosh this thread Brough to life
I'm not sure on re-chroming but I'm sure someone out there must do it I have seen a Jaguar owner who re-chromed his using a sticky chrome film and hairdryer and they looked fantastic. I think he bought film of eBay but I can't recommend what or point you in the right direction sorry. Good luck be interesting to see your results.
