Went round all the door actuators and linkages with WD40 PTFE spray and got them all working on one press of the button. Alternating multiple physical pressing the door to lock button and pulling the interior handle with the doors open to release them, seems to have worked well in freeing off the rear doors, which were occasionally sticking due to lack of use probably. I found that you can spray the front locks by removing the rubber bump stops below the actuators and using the tube on the can through the hole, spray upwards and around. Worked a treat.

Took advantage of a huge cardboard box that appeared in my hallway, with some Christmas wrapping paper offcuts and assorted detritus.
Placed it on the backseat of the ZT, and filled it to the brim with IPK, ECM, and various interior trim parts, and took the lot to the tip. How absolutely therapeutic, I may well repeat tomorrow Brian |

Not so much what I did, as what I learned.
Checked the bottom hoses/PRT to see if yesterday's refitting had cured the leak (so far so good...) and was surprised to discover that the thermostat hadn't actually opened! Now, I know it works properly, and I had very nice stable temperatures 88-90C all the way back from work (32miles of A roads with a lot of 0-60 deceleration), so can only conclude that opening up the coolant passages in the head has a big effect on running temps... |
