Default Tourer Rear Lights

I trimmed down 5 sets of the rawlplugs used for the Tourer rear lights ready for the Nano meet after sorting out a local members rear light which had the brittle clip syndrome

Then washed the FL2 tourer turn tomorrow.

Default My mg today thanked me with

Filled up the tank to find the zt wouldn't start after .
After turning over for what felt like 20 min it fired up.
Got 200 yards and packed in again at traffic lights in the middle of the town.
Again turned it over and over and it finally started. Lights turn green and it stops again. As I'm at the lights a chap knocked on the window to say I was leaking fuel all over the road.
Got it started again this time had to rev it up to 4 thou to keep it running. Got it home turned it off. Said some very nice words and started it up again.
Started first turn and ran fine. Did this five times and every time started and run fine. Not looked at it yet to see what's going on .
But I now know
Battery is a good one after the amount I had to turn the engine over to start it.
Zt don't like green traffic lights as it would cut out every time on green.
And it's going to be cheap to run as I can't fill the tank up now.
And sounds good on hi revs

Trial fitted my new painted dashboard in the ZT, only when removing the 'technical grey' dashboard did I realise just how flimsy the plastic dashboard is and a couple of the pillars for the vent screws had already broken.

Having got the dashboard out in the sunlight I can see a few patches where it looks like I was a bit thin with the basecoat and looks a bit translucent so think I will have to repaint one section.

Just waiting for some self adhesive foam to replace around the vents before I put the whole lot back together.

Noticed that that one of the exhaust straps had corroded through, and that it was pretty much in a poor state, even though it wasn’t blowing. The entire outer skin was more or less self-disintegrating.
So decided to get a new stainless rear box put on.
£100 for a workshop made rear box...no difference to noise as far as I can tell.
Nice and understated.

Still, it want the cause of the “rubbing” noise that sometimes occurs when doing heavy left hand turns, which prompted me to look under the car in the first place.🙄

Sloshed a load of thinned Bonda rust primer around the inside of my new rear arms.
Probably haven't got great coverage but better than nothing!

Now to leave it to dry for a week before I spray the waxoyl in...not sure I can be bothered sloshing chassis black around as well.

Had a look at the soggy board in the boot, decided I will have to replace it with something a little more substantial.
