Or the water pump has failed which leads to catastrophic coolant dump.

Took it to a garage. He reckoned he couldn't find any issue. Took it from garage. Overheated and again a massive coolant dump under the chassis. Hair pulled out.

Well, I guess if the garage didn't find anything, that probably means you don't have a burst coolant hose. Looks more like water pump now. I've heard of the water pump impeller breaking loose from the shaft (then it doesn't rotate to pump water), but can't see how that could happen and then let you drive to the garage and troubleshoot only to fail again on the way home.

I got the garage to tow it from where I left it. I then drove for maybe 30 mins or so and this happened again.

if it is a water pump issue, any ideas how much that's going to cost to fix at a garage? Thanks!

Around £300 if they just change the pump, £450 - £550 if you need the belts doing at the same time.
