Opinions on this one? Please?
So, I still haven't given up. You gotta kick me in the nuts more than once to make me quit! I just took a break and looked at Passats. Then tonight I looked at Rover 75's again and look what I found!
https://auto.bazos.sk/inzerat/983714...RER-20-CDT.php You know what? MK2's are nice, too. I think they got the nicer MGZT steering rack. Did they get any other nice bits like plastic door handle clips that don't break or headliners that don't fall down? Would you folks mind having a gander at this one for me, please, and give me your impressions? If you're using Google Chrome you can right click the text to get a reasonable facsimile of a translation. There is a picture of the serial number there. It is SARRJSTHP5D335702 . I know it was imported into Slovakia recently, but I don't know from where (rust belt country or ?). Thank you, Glenn

It looks very clean.
I've had 3 diesel tourers (currently running an 04 manual). I've had a total of 7 75s and never had a roof lining sag. As long as the basics are taken care of like plenum drains, EGR replaced or cleaned, PCV cleaned (if venturi) or filter replaced. More of them are now suffering from sill rot which is relatively easy to fix and rear suspension components rotting, but you really need to get underneath to see that. Going by the inside its been looked after. Another Tourer problem is the rear demister elements, due to the method of construction and its design the seal around the window rubs through the elements and stops them working, no easy fix. If she's clean underneath its worth it but you'd need more info like clutch/flywheel etc which can get pricey.

Excellent Jim. Thank you. I think Germany has a well regulated inspection process like your MOT, don't they? Just considering the odds of it being mechanically cared for.
Cheers, Glenn

Yes the German equivalent is every two years once the car is three years old and I understand it's more stringent than ours. From the pictures it looks a nice clean car and with the added benefit of cruise, xenons, auto wipers and probably also an auto dimming mirror. Jim |

How'do Glen Looks Nice from the pics - if I read correctly the Car comes with 2 sets of Wheels (?) a Summer and Winter set ? that would be a Good sign of a conscientious owner Paul. |

Yes, 2 sets. That is a promising sign. I do the same thing here. The pictures do look good, but up close and personal will tell the tale. I sent them a checklist of things to look at for me, except for the undercar suspension & steering stuff. That should be covered by the STK (mechanical safety inspection). Cheers, Glenn

I have an identical model parked on my drive right now, it's a 2004 "nonnoisseur"
The axis seats are hard wearing, and comfortable in both hot and cold conditions, unlike leather. If it drives ok, the price is acceptable to you, why not give it a try The HRW elements tend to become scratched if the car has been used for lugging loads of gear in the back, but at least the back lights won't leak into the car Brian |
