Had the first estimate to repair the dents in side of caravan and replace the broke window. £2100 plus vat
I think that is excessive considering the minor damage. It may well get written off at that cost. No way I'm allowing that to happen though. To replace the caravan with the same current model would cost me in excess of 16k. The market value of this one at 12 years old is less than 5k

I think they are taking the p Andy as its an insurance job. Labour alone to refit one window and fill and paint a few dents and renew the vinyls is 1100.plus vat.

I agree, the prices associated with repairs that surround the caravan world are ridiculous, some people really do take the biscuit.

Can you not do the repairs yourself Richard, caravans are normally quite straightforward to repair?

I could probably fill in the gouges Wes, but I wouldn’t tackle doing the paintwork. If it was a smaller patch I would do it. I can’t add the pics on here, as the forum will say they are too big, but if someone wants me to email them, and can reduce them to post on here, let me know.

Dam, that's some damage, look at all those decals to contend with.

The window should be an easy job depending on year/model of caravan, it should remove from top rail once opened and fully lifted. You will have some stoppers/stays to remove, unclip/unscrew and then slide the window out Rich.

To repair that properly Richard, you will need to fit a new aluminium skin to the whole side, if I were you id find a good bodyshop and get them to do a repair, maybe get some fresh decals to cover the worst of it once repaired.
