Default Reversing sensors, not the normal story.

My ZT 2003 Auto reversing sensors are playing up. I have read the HowTo but it does help in my case.

When I first start the car and put it into reverse I get a constant tone, if I take it out of reverse and then put it back in 9/10 times I get normal sensors.

I have checked each sensor and they are all clicking, two sensors do have paint delamination in the middle.

Any ideas??

Check the wiring harness behind the bumper, these have been known to break causing your issue.

Thanks, can you check it with bumper on, or is it an off job. I have again looked at the "howTo" section and there is no explanation of removing the rear bumper.

Its easier with the bumper off, two plastic fasteners under the centre of the bumper, five more when you open the boot, then a self tapper at each side of the rear wheel arch, then a firm pull on each side and the bumper will be off.

Hi.
Clean the paint that has delaminated off. Mine did the same, I cleaned up and painted the sensor been OK since.
