Default Aftermarket retrofit DPF?

Hi folks,

This is the question that seems to be drawing a blank. Does anyone know anything about aftermarket DPFs and their fitment to the 75/ZT?

It was apparently an "in thing" in Germany. I have seen a couple of 75s advertised as Euro 4 for emissions and used to think it was enthusiastic advertising. Now that I have been told that the 75 I'm "looking at" has a DPF fitted to get the Euro 4 rating I did some searching and discovered the German govt. actually paid 350 Euros to people who installed a DPF in non-DPF cars.

So, in the EU, if a car that was not fitted with a DPF by the factory has one installed by the owner, can it be legally removed by a second owner - like ME for instance? The car was sold and exported to another EU country from Germany.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Cheers,
Glenn
