Thanks for the link, however, how do I get into diagnostics mode?
As you can all tell, I am new to this so need a little hand holding!!

It can be a bit difficult to get right at first. Start with the engine running.
You have to start pressing every half second or so, until the screen gets to 'test 19' and stop. When the next screen starts to toggle 'test on/off', press when 'test off' shows and continue every half second till it reaches 'test 7.0' then stop. That's where you want to be. The temperature is displayed as a three digit number.

it's simple really...survey the temp on your normal commute and report back your findings
