Default Waxoyl treatment

I'm thinking of having my MG ZT prepared and sprayed with Waxoyl underneath and in all the crevices etc. What do people think about this as a proposition to protect the car for the years ahead?

Good idea, especially the suspension arms, inside the sill cavities. I use this stuff https://www.dinitroldirect.com/produ...on-protection/

Well worth doing. Had my Copperleaf one done with Waxoyl last year.
Moonstone one was undersealed last year. Will see in a few years time which was the better treatment!

I have used Waxoyl for years. Redo mine every six months. Not that it needs doing, but usually have a good check to see if everything is ok. When I first used it I took their claims about coated and Uncoated metal to heart, and did the same with two pieces of metal. Coated the one, and left the other half bare. Stuck them at the bottom of the garden and I forgot all about them until I was clearing up the garden. I wondered how the two pieces of metal came to be there six years later, then remembered what they were. The one was very badly rusted. The other was dirty, but when I wiped the dirt off, there was no rust whatsoever. That’s my own reason for using waxoyl. I know it really works.

On a 10+ year old car, it is the pre-application preparation that will make the difference.

Waxoyl is a very well known product that does a very good job.

The less well known "new kid on the block" is Bilt Hamber. I routinely use a number of their car detailing products and they are all very, very good so I'd have no hesitation in using their "rust proofing" range.

I've read many posts on here about their products also.

Just an idea for an alternative.

Andy.

The sill protector covers that are fixed along the carpet/door line are fixed by plastic studs. If you remove 1 from each cover strip you have a very convenient hole in which to insert the Bilthamber spray head to spray the sill insides.

Or you can use Dinitrol cavity wax on a long hose through the jacking pads into the length of the Sill.
