Exactly how I did mine . One word of warning though, it's advisable to tape up the connection to the alternator with insulation tape first. I didn't think of that on my first session, and got a bit too close with the steel wool. My reward was one or two nice fat blue sparks - not clever on my part .

I've always taped up the connector when polishing since then. After all, a working alternator trumps a shiny dead one .

Took Moonstone V6 in for oil and filter change plus MOT, told them I do not want an MOT with fail or advisories, just do whatever is needed, now booked in for front pads next Wednesday will pass. The oil this time is 5 - 30 fully synthetic long life, so, last change was 16 moths ago and 4,400 miles, how long can I go without another oil change using this new, expensive oil?

I wouldn't use 5-30, if you are using a fully synthetic oil, 0w-40 would be more suitable, however there is no reason not to use 10w 40 semi synthetic, as that is the correct grade for the car

This reminds me, I really should change my oil after my trip away, I have no idea what oil was put in it by the Italian Mechanic

You joke but Olive oil was very nearly put in it as I was insanely desperate at the time, turns out there aren't many places to buy oil in the Italian Alps

After collecting the necessary parts over many months, I managed to retrofit a thicker version of the rear anti roll from a ZT onto my Connie se diesel. It wasn't too bad to fit after cleaning the bolt holes in the subframe with a tap and then loosening and adjusting the exhaust to clear the n/s mounting bracket we were good to see if it would make any difference.

Well it seems to have sharpened up the drive noticeably , the rear wiggle that I used to feel going over the usual potholes has gone and the rear wheels feel like they are following the fronts. Who at MG Rover thought this was a good idea to delete an important part of the suspension on a heavy car .

Quiet day at work today, so I finally got around to doing the inlet manifold gasket.
Still had time to do an oil change before it got too dark.
Quiet day tomorrow too, so will hopefully give her a good clean inside and out.
Quite a productive weekend hopefully, and I'm getting paid for it too
