not quite to my ZT but in readiness picked up a new carpet to fit, having discovered that mine is soggy after a sun roof leak and that they are virtually impossible to dry out.

Fortuitous in a way as it means that i can replace the Mk2 carpet with the much nicer Mk1 variant.

Just not looking forward to taking the whole interior apart but figure if I give it a weekend it shouldn't be too bad.

The carpet is not too bad to do kelvo, front seats and centre consul are the main things to come out and if your replacing with new you can always cut in two to make it easier. They are just foam backed. Remover mine and it took about an hour to remove.

yes, it's probably one of those jobs that's not as bad as it sounds. I figured it might be easier to take the carpet out in two pieces - I'm guessing it's fitted in through the rear doors?

I've already discovered that the handbrake adjuster has been packed out with washers so this will also be opportune moment to fit a modified handbrake compensator once I've ordered the shackle to make it. In true Blue Peter fashion I have an adjuster I prepared earlier from my old car ready to modify.

Todays foray into the abused machine that is my MG ZTT in Pearl Black started with a nice ride out to a local (newish) scrappy; proper old skool, "It's over there, go and have a look mate". Came away with a working load cover for £15. Roof rails soon... they have 1 x ZT in Trophy, a ZTT in PBT (d), a 1.8 75 Tourer, couple of ZRs, a MGF, Rover 400 and assorted other stuff. Anyway, got home, stripped and cleaned the rear wiper arm as it was seized, now nice and smooth, sorted a door trim and had a go at the screenwash. The rubber filter was completely monged up with scum, so after one abortive attempt at getting everything working (monged up again) I pulled it all out and dumped about 2 litres of hot water with washing up liquid into the tank - boy did that stink! A good flush out with the garden hose jammed in the top and I now have washers front and rear again! Still no rear wiper - it doesn't feel like its engaged with the rotator or the motor is running. Hmmm.

Default Mot pass

Took Moonstone V6 to garage for new pads and MOT. Ended up with new disks and pads, failed MOT on headlight aim too high on both sides, then a pass. Now clear until 29th Nov 2019. Don't know why they did not just adjust the headlights rather than a fail & pass. Do MOT stations have a quota for fails?

Mine were done at Aerocoat near Beccles (and Trikey!).

Shame that I sold the car soon after!
