Sorry for the delay,
She's been tucked back away in the barn since the MOT, out yesterday to finally have the factory rear sensors replaced with new aftermarket ones. They work and look really good, in fact you wouldn't know they weren't fitted from new. Last edited by timspencer; 20th March 2019 at 15:55.. |

Took my Copperleaf in for Cambelt, water pump & aux belt replacement plus oil & filter change and MOT. This car has wanted for nothing and cost me a fortune to maintain. Came away with a bill of £568.68 and a massive MOT fail. The VOSA inspector was there, Copperleaf failed on 2 broken springs at the rear, both low down in the cup, both front drop links, and both anti roll bar bushes. Mechanic says it's due to speed humps and pot holes. Took car home as they have booked it in for next Wednesday. Dread to think how much the next bill will be. Will have to use Moonstone for the next week.

Hi Tim.
Congrats on the pass, but I would really look into those two rear suspension arms being corroded as in six months time they could be holed, that is how it starts, last year my MGZT passed with flying colours, it had never failed a MOT test in it's 17yrs Then early this January all the sills had rotted, so that dreaded rust spreads fast believe me, either get them taken off and stripped back and treated properly or replace them, that is the only way to stop the rust from getting worse and causing a fail next MOT.

Congratulations on pass, seems rear corrosion and brake pipes are the most popular ads, done my pipes before test last week, but rear corrosion was advised.

My cars lives a pampered life, its garaged and doesn't get much use.
I will be replacing the suspension arms and front top mounts in due course. |
