Well done Wes, hope it has worked - keep your chin up.

I suppose I ought to give an update on my ongoing issues, whilst we wait for Wes to let us know how well it worked?

One completely failed kidney, one limping along and getting worse they say, that they put a stent into in January.

They have warned me I will be on dialysis within 18 to 24 months, with no chance of a kidney transplant - too old/ too many other issues. My iron levels have been getting worse, due to the failures and it has left me breathless, unable to walk far without a rest.

Last week they had a company deliver 4x Aranesp injections, to be kept in the fridge until needed, injected once per month. Yesterday, I had an made me an appointment to go in hospital for intravenous iron - the first time since the Covid. They did that, plus agreed to carry out the jab if I took it along with me. During the Covid, it has been a 6 weekly phone appointment, where I just provided my consultant with BP readings, after my surgery had sent them blood and urine samples.

The jabs are intended for self administration, but my surgery insists that I take them in for them to carry out the following three. The IV is supposed to begin to help 14 days after the IV, the jab is supposed to encourage iron retention/ production. Low iron = low energy. It might have just been a fluke, but walking to and from buses on my way home from hospital, I seemed to have quite a bit more energy than I have had for months - 100 yards and I would have been looking for somewhere to sit and recover from my exertions.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

You guys will find this funny You know when I mentioned a few days ago about my notes mentioning the left nut is to be removed, when in fact it should be the right nut, and that I contacted the hospital to inform them of their mistake. Well! The surgeon still had the 'left' detailed on his paperwork.

Thank goodness you get to see the surgeon just before you go into theatre, he actually marked my right side with a big green arrow and altered the paperwork. Just imagine if I didn't make those checks? It wasn't the surgeon who made the mistake, but somewhere along the paper-trail the mistake was made, not sure who it was though.

Today I feel great, I don’t have any pain, just a mild ache. There is no bruising and only a small bit of swelling along the scar, but that’s it. I can walk and move around as normal, I’m pleasantly surprised as I thought I would be bed ridden. I guess it’s still a bit early to know for sure if it’s worked, but I feel positive with the signs so far.

When I had the varicocelectomy back in June, I couldn't walk for 3 days, I was in horrendous pain straight after the procedure. My nut had swollen up the size of a tennis ball, I was black and blue, it took 6 weeks until it all settled down, this orchiectomy is a walk in the park so far. I feel it is better to remove a failing part, than try to fix it, seems to make sensce. lol

......
That could have been a bit of a disaster.

It is a good job that both of you had your eye on the ball.

Hope you get better soon Wes and it was the correct decision to make.

I just got out of hospital today and I hope you don't mind me posting a few traumatic events in the thread belonging to the forum's resident specialist. Three days of chest pains just like I had 12 years ago when I had a heart attack and a stent fitted.--( tired now but more to follow ) I was put in a long corridor with half the doors having a label---COVID---on them.---

Me too Dave, I'm getting fed up being out of action, it's about time I get some luck on my side. I still owe you that pint, will be good to catch up when I'm all sorted.

How's you these days, you've been quiet lately, how's those motors of yours?

You take it easy Jon, you will have to stop chasing the lovely nurses.

Going into hospital during a pandemic certainly isn't fun, I feel that I'm playing Russian roulette.

This will make you guys fall over with laughter I'm having to wear compression stockings and some sort of supportive underwear. These were given to me by the hospital, they are real tight and made from some white see through netting type material I look hilarious, my wife can't stop laughing.
