Default Rover 75 1800 turbo losing water from header cap

I’m having a problem when driving the car for a distance have water coming out of the header cap . The cap is brand new do you think I have an air lock and how do I bleed the system thanks

Sure you don’t have a leak somewhere? Could be from the water pump..

Possibly overfilled? the "max" is aligned to the marking which is almost on the bottom of the expansion tank. You may have to extract water first to see it. It is only seen by peering into the top of the expansion tank. If the tank is clean and clear one may be able to see a reference from the outside, but best to use that visual on the bottom inside.

Adjust coolant level when engine is cold following advice given in your parallel thread. If problem persists, report back there.

If you use a small LED torch and shine it up from UNDER the tank the level marks will become VERY clear.---

However, with the old cap, was the tank filled to the correct level ? This is VERY important otherwise you yourself might have been creating what you assumed was a problem.---
