Fiat multipla seriously😨 that article lost all credibility with me the moment I found that on the list, fiat made some much better motors than that, I mean if you have ever worked on a multipla you’d know what I mean, not only that but the drive was horrible on the ones I drove, the punto Mk1 GT Turbo however was a decent hot hatch that suffered from what we call in the industry as
F= fix I= it A=Again T=Tomorrow Mick

In practical terms the mulipla was a good family car, as long as you approached it with your eyes closed and avoided anything that may reflect your image whilst driving it

A few memories there .
A mate had the Hyundai coupe - Hyundai were pretty rare back then. Oh, how that's changed . If you go right back to the first photo it says they're "....listed in chronological order....." so it's just by age not best/worst. |

Back in the days of the Hot-Hatch I had very young children but wanted a hot car not boring family car.
So had to be four door and on tight budget. Golf GTI four doors were rare and out my price range. Astra GTE four doors available but again rare and expensive. And then I found A 1989 Citroen BX19 GTI four door. Very fast off the mark and with Citroen Hydropneumatic suspension the ride was fantastic. Well equipped, comfortable and (to me) stylish and practical. BUT Suspension was notoriously unreliable and needed a garage familiar with its workings. It was a fantastic car, great fun and practical with children but had to go as almost bankrupted me. Then my love for MGR began when in 1994 i replaced it with a 1991 Rover 418GSD Turbo and not had another brand since.
