I've tried the sync reset to no avail,the car is on our drive an I have had no problems before.

Thanks Terry. At the moment it's looking like a problem with the key fob PCB, the coding to the car or the RF receiver.

When you press either of the buttons on the key fob, does the red LED on the fob illuminate briefly to indicate that transmission has taken place?

As you haven't mentioned it, I take it that you don't have a second key fob.

If you have a multimeter we might be able to check that the RF receiver is producing a signal output (h.f. oscillation between 0 and 12v) to the BCU.

Otherwise it's a job for T4 I'd say.
