Can't help with draining but I can suggest a good Anti-freeze, and that is get some Red 'OAT' from your local Vauxhall Dealer - it's the cheapest I found by far! And it's concentrated... I think it's about £7.00/5lts (Which will give you 10lts).

Many leading engine manufacturers are recommending mixing with distilled or de-ionised water, rather than tap water.
This has been the practice, for many years, with high performance Japanese motorcycles.
5 lts in only one about £1.50, and considering the time it is in there, worth doing, I think.

The 05 1.8 has the PRT system, which makes draining off quite easy. Remove the under tray the release a clip/hose from one of the PRT unions.

This will allow almost everything to come out. The lower block and heater circuit could be flushed out with a hose if you consider it necessary.

Refill as per the Haynes manual, or if you have a Pela type pump, use the MGR recommended vacuum technique.
