I actually got a letter of thanks from the Police years ago, mid/late 80s? Wee bit set up info first, a few hundred yards from the house are land reclamation ash lagoons, ash was piped from the power station a couple of miles east (now closed and flattened). They sprayed water on the ash to settle it and keep the dust down. The water was piped in huge aluminium pipes, 40-50' long and about 8-10" in diameter. Spare pipe sections were kept in a compound at this end of the lagoons. I was woken up during the night, somebody sawing one of these aluminium pipe sections, the sheer size of the pipes amplified the noise making it obvious what was going on but the genius trying to nick the aluminium never considered that possibility! I phoned the Police and, think it was a couple of months or so later, I got a thank you letter.

Trying to think of something as bland as possible for dinner. Had an unpleasant feeling of hunger, slight nausea and bad acid all day. Even one of me other half's omeprazoles didn't help
