I can find information on the site with regard to repairing vis motors but nothing on how to remove them.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

The power vis has 3 screws, but having taken those out I still can't get it out.

They should both have 4 screws in them. Remove and tap the edge where the screws go whilst pulling on the bit where the connector goes
It's easier to pull the vacuum hose out near the power motor, don't forget to put it back!!!

Yep, 4 screws on both.

As suggested, pull out the vacuum pipe (press the red ring down whilst pulling on the pipe).

When removed, check that the balance butterfly (the one nearest the bulkhead, opens & closes with ease (you may have to shave a little off if it doesn't).

Also make sure the end hasn't sheared off.

Before refitting, make sure you have both seals in place.

When refitting the balance VIS, the butterfly should be in the full open position for the VIS motor to line up.

When refitting the power VIS, make sure the butterfly arm in the manifold is all the way to the left (looking from front of car) & ease the VIS motor in to locate the peg.
(once located, it should sit nicely flat - if it doesn't, it isn't aligned so don't force it).

With reference to the screws on both, put them in & turn them anti-clockwise to find the original thread, you'll feel the screw drop slightly (otherwise they'll try to cut a new one & this will make them tighter going in).

With regards to repairing, Stocktake (Dave) is the man you need to talk to on here.

there are four on each or at least there should be; quite a fiddle. When you put it back together be sure the VIS sits down nicely on its seal before you re screw it down

PS I have found a small socket set with a cross head screwdriver tip to be easier to get in position than any screwdriver. Do not over tighten doing it this way though!

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I have found the fourth screw, and now have a brand new power vis fitted.
