3 speed fan wiring diagram.
Does anybody have the wiring diagram for a 3 speed fan? I have just removed my fan and want to confirm correct switching is taking place at the plugs.
Thanks.

Just don't expect the motor to react by running at slow, medium and fast speeds! Also, when you separate C0019 it will cut the positive supply to the relay coils. Simon

Thank you Simon, I'll be testing it out in the morning. Ive removed the fan already so will test the relays, test the car is switching correctly and then move on to the brushes, I have a feeling the brushes have worn. There is no indication this unit has ever been removed so it's done well to last 13 years.

Well, after confirming correct operation of fan relays I pulled the motor apart to be greeted by a worn negative brush. There seems to be evidence of water ingress too. Now to decide whether to replace the brushes or get a new motor.

That's the usual problem with the 3 speeders John! Actually yours looks in pretty good condition. As you've come this far, why not renew the worn brushes? Prior to dismantling, was the motor running at the high speed triggering point (112°C)?

I never noticed the high speed Simon. I rigged up a battery to the relay box to see if the fan operates, it didn't operate when any relay was energised, however I'm not sure if all three relays have to operate to trigger the high speed. Ive not looked at the board properly yet but would assume if the negative has no connection then the fan can't operate at all.
