Default A/C problems

It appears that the A/C compressor is not engaging when the A/C is turned on, could this be due to low gas pressure in the system which will not allow it to engage?

Is there a test that can be done to override the system to force the compressor to engage to see if it is working?

Or do I need to get a Mobile A/C technician in to test the pressure etc?

TIA.

Yes, lack of refrigerant/under-pressure will inhibit the compressor clutch.

Probably, but failure of the electric clutch isn't a common issue. Lack of gas is much more likely

I'd say it's your best plan under the circumstances.

First thing to check is the cable and plug connection to the clutch to rule out cable damage, corrosion on the pins, or it may even have come off.
