I have purchase the same lead as pictured. What does the PC board do and does this negate the need to join pins. I have read somewhere(?) that a KKL VAG-COM adapter works with out modifying?
Help appreciated

Still need to join pins 7 & 8 together, irrespective of what you read. As for what the board does - not a clue, sorry.

But now you've got the lead why not go one step further and get Toaf which can easily enable or disable the digital speedo function and so much more.

Thanks for your quick reply. I’ve done as you said and soldered the pins. Downloaded the TOAF software and Phil T4 IPK changer .
Just had a play with it in the car and it all works🤙 Enabled the digital speedo so it all working perfectly. Both programs worked a treat.
Where would we be without these forums😁
