Coolant Problems
I run the car for 20 miles, everything seem OK. The bottom radiator coolant pipe is cold, ie seems no circulation? The other large coolant pipe is hot. Is this normal?

Hi,
I think it goes something like this.......... Hot water enter radiator at the top, this gets cooled as its flows down through the radiator and cool water exits at the bottom. So the top hose should be hot and the bottom should be cool. Are you getting any problems? coolant loss or over heating. You can check if your coolant fan works just do a quick search, basically if you turn your air con on the fan should start. hth and i might be wrong dac |

hi you have an air lock in the system ,you will need to bleed the system and check the pipes for any blockage then refill making sure you have re pressured it and making sure that all the air is out the system. .all the hoses should be hot .failure to sort it now could lead to head gasket failure ,there are some posts on here on how to do it .

Just had a think, is the heater working? If that is blowing hot would that not eliminate airlocks?

Provided there are NO other symptoms it could be worth the OP having the coolant system flushed and changed. This would remove the possibility of air leaks and blockages. But dont quote me

Heh
Can you hold the Fort TC? I've got to go & have a clear out of the workshop before rain arrives ! Cars have been fitting into the service bay less & less due to junk. Final straw yesterday when car would only nose in up to the bonnet!
