I think that will only come when solid state battery tech will replace lithium ion. Nissan have just said "They aim to produce more competitive and efficient electric vehicles by pushing forward the development of solid-state batteries to extend driving distances and reduce charging times." They're also going to electrify all it's new models in key markets by the 2030's

As battery technology moves of what does that do for the chargers?
Will the charger you have at home today,still be compatible with new cars in 5 years or more?

Is it planning law that all new builds have charging points?

From what I've read the type 2/ home chargers/CCS chargers will stay the same it'll just mean much less time charging the battery pack.



Yes I think it's been law for over a year or so that all new house builds have to be fitted with an EV charging point.
