Default Spare tyre question

Hi.

I can't find the answer to this question with a search, so if it has been asked before, please forgive me!

Having just bought a ZT 1.8T, which came with a space-saver spare, I'm wondering if a standard-size spare will fit in the well in the boot, and still let the boot carpet lie flat. The car has 225/45 18 tyres/wheels.

Thanks!

Default Full size spare wheel stowage

For what its worth our 2001 Tourer came with space-saver which we later took out in favour of a full-size spare which fits OK under stowage area and tool tray still fits in OK carpet does not protrude.

Thanks for the speedy response, GG

I presume the polystyrene moulding that holds the jack, wheelbrace, etc will then fit into the space in the centre of the upside-down wheel ?
