Rear Sunblind.......or not
How'do folks
I have an Electric Rear Sunblind (on a Smokestone Parcel Shelf) and Button I thought i'd attempt to release my stuck Rear Seats, which I did - then removed trim panels, middle seat belt etc... old Parcel Shelf came out with no real hassle No sign of a connector for the Blind - No sign of anything behind the Centre Console either finding the connectors for my Illuminated Sunvisors had me confident i'd find connectors on the loom for the other optional extras I'm not sure I want this enough to bother with installing additional wiring - although....... I did meet with a friend of a friend today who is an Auto-Electrician for Jaguar maybe in the better weather for now I think i'll source a replacement shelf in Black to match the changes I've made to the Interior - see if that works for me Can't have it easy ALL the time I s'pose Paul. |

My sunblind Cable was taped under the metal shelf inside the boot.

Sometimes the front connectors are tucked in around the gear selector base, wrapped in foam, pop off the base surround and have a butchers..

You could always get one of the official Rover manual rear sun blinds, no wiring necessary.

Put one in the CDTi ages back ...
nice to look flash popping it up an down. But honestly I think its more of a gimmick than of practical use In practice found I rarely use it . Think I wound it up and down more to see it wasn't stuck, rather than using to keep the sun at bay. And its presently jammed again . As for the manual one, easy to fit , but a right pain to use , got one the V8 C

Works fine in the winter when its cold, soon as the weather warms up and the car gets hot inside, it jams .

Other than the above, I rarely use it, although twice last week it was used to reduce the glare from a an SUV's headlights with what I suspect aftermarket Xenons, and also an Audi with a misaligned LHS headlight

as for actually using it, I use it when parking the car in the sun to try to keep the temp down, AND I sometimes use it when a car behind is dazzling me with his headlights but I could just as easily move the mirror. This reminds me, I really do need to fit a dimming mirror lol
