This is what I have used to coat my sports sills. It gives a very shiny and durable finish, but you need the correct equipment to spray it (plus it is pretty poisonous). http://www.churchill-paints.co.uk/ch...l-anti-scratch You can get this easily on Ebay.

Default staining inside the lens

Hi all,
this forum is fantastic, such a wealth of knowledge - so..can anyone tell me how to split the lens from headlight body on my mk1 zt's xenons so that I can clean the insides?
There is condensation and what looks like staining on the inside, so Mr MOT man may not like it. Obviously at £458 ish each I do not want to buy new ones..if I remove the lamps, could I get a flexi drive and mop in there from the bulb holder side?
No doubt someone will know a way..greatly appreciated.

cheers in advance,

Paul.

Stick them in the oven for 10 mins, then pull apart

Take great care, the finish on the inside is usually preserved and any cleaning will lessen the overall finish

I'm sure you can clean up your lights just as you would a dial that's on one of your vintage Radios Edward 👍

I used the 3M kit on another car I had four years ago.
The kit is just sanding disks and rubbing compound.
I then included polishing the lenses in my car polishing routine (about four times a year) and after four years in the Australian sun there is no sign of yellowing.

Default re headlamps

Thought I'd drop in an update and also thank everyone for their replies. The unit with the condensation in had clearly been opened before and not sealed properly, so I got this apart with a hairdryer very easily. I cleaned the inside with mild fairy liquid solution, then used the maguires polishing kit on the outside of the lenses..quite a difference I must admit and will probably get better if I go over them again. Re-sealed it with 'tiger bond' isobutyl stuff used to put in windscreens etc, using an old credit card to push it in and give a good, full seal (I hope ).

Hopefully my new xenon bulbs will arrive tomorrow so I can get it all back together..new stainless bolts going in too and it gives me chance to check for that chaffing wiring issue - likely as it keeps telling my my side light is out when it is not.

Happy days..drivers central locking latch next then that 'should' be that..

cheers all.
