did air con resistor mod no strip down
Hi,
Did the resistor mod for the aircon system on my dads 2.0v6 75. Took off the grill and the air deflectors behind it and completed the job through the fan blades, did not remove the bumper.Obvious saftey precautions of diconnecting the battery negative lead. It was a little fiddly working through the fan blades but was hassle free. working as an aircraft engineer and used to working in tight spaces also maybe helps, soldering in place no probs. He is now happy following the fitting of a new engine that had been boiled dry,the old original resistor was burnt out. Now for the complete interior/sat nav re-fit. |

That's worth a HowTo in anyone's money. Fancy repeating it to get some photos? Removing the bumper puts a lot of people off doing this job themselves. It would save a tidy sum if it's actually not essential on ceratin models.

Fan Resistor
It is not strictly necessary to disconnect the battery when working on the fan, just remove the 80Amp strap in the underbonnet fuse box.
