Had a phone call today, an MGTF which had a 1600 engine fitted, had been retrofitted with an LE500 135 engine following a hydraulic incident leading to two bent conrods.

Anyway the crux of the conversation went new ECU, no problem, can I come over in the wife's car, so I can use your lift to fit a new exhaust.

So I coded a new ECU to the TF, then fitted a new exhaust to the Freelander, it's third system in 21 years, and what a pig it was to do

On the plus side, 40 miles covered in it today, which has cleaned up the brake discs nicely, and the suggestions of MOT work that may be required was taken on board, so a couple of little snagging jobs to do before taking it for test.

It may get an oil change too, as according to the felt tip message on the oil filter, I last changed the oil in July 2010 at 67000 miles
