Default Continuous Airbag Light

Had the airbag light come on and "airbag fault" show when I started the car earlier. Previously fixed this in my last 75 by disconnecting and reconnecting the blue and yellow underseat connectors but not this time.
Have checked the carpets around the side impact sensors and both sides dry so read a little from the forum and came across the post

https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...2&postcount=39

The airbag light on my dash remains on continuously from posII to starting and beyond. I also found that removing fuse 18 before restarting the car has no effect on the dashboard airbag light which stays lit until the key is turned to stop the engine.

Do these symptoms indicate a faulty DCU? is there anything else I can check before replacing the SRS DCU and having it configured to the car?

Thanks in advance.

I had the light displayed on one car I acquired, and it did not disappear until I gently moved the connectors in the plugs, just to bend them slightly but without undue force.

The only time is showed since was during severe rain storms so I think that was probably due to condensation.

good luck.

I also use electrical contact cleaner, sprayed into the connectors.

I had the airbag light on permanently, and it was down to corrosion on the side impact sensor under the carpet. If you have ever had water under the carpets this will cause the problem. There are two sensors, one under each front seat, and there are two colour variations dependant on your vehicle model, one is orange and one is green.

I reckon you should have it diagnosed properly Joe, otherwise it could be absolutely anything

Awaiting a cruise kit which will need configuring to the car so will try to get to a T4 for this and a diagnosis of the airbag fault in one session.
Had hoped for a definite "yeah, that's the SRS DCU goosed" kind of answer- would have picked one up to take along while having the cruise sorted.

Thanks for the assistance.
