I wondered about that too.
Does anyone know if there's any issue with removing/replacing them (other than finding the correct star socket)? Although I always clean them in situ, I'm tempted to remove them for a 'proper do' but dreaded something unexpected like a retaining nut dropping into an irretrievable recess. |

If I were to take mine off, I would put masking tape around them first just to make sure they go back in exactly the same position.
Similarly, the very first time I cleaned mine, I had to use steel wool. Still did them on the car, but used copious amounts of masking tape to protect the paintwork. Hope this helps, Cliff
