Our 3" of snow from this morning has now turned into 3" of water - an exceedingly quick thaw this afternoon. I hope it doesn't freeze overnight, as there'll be some skating rinks for roads in the morning if it does.

I watched "Highway Thru Hell" the other night, its about a heavy recovery company in Canada if you haven't seen it. There had been freezing rain leaving about 2" of slick, solid ice on the roads causing utter chaos.

Evenin' all. Yeah I've watched that Steve. Their insurance premiums must be expensive over there to cope with all the Winter collisions

It's been a grim rainy day here so I've been playing some guitar (Simon & Garfunkel) 'The Boxer' and I've been watching a bunch of Youtube videos today (Richard Aguilar channel) about the Chinese 'bullet trains' It's incredible what they've achieved in a decade

building the infrastructure, stations & the trains themselves

Tuesday night's episode was sad, dunno if you watched it. Poor bugr trapped in his mangled cab for 48 hours before anybody saw the truck upside down a couple of hundred feet down a 30 degree hill. Took hours to get him out, they had to remove the gearbox and cut the floor to finally free him. He was still alive when they got him out but unfortunately he didn't survive, even the rufty-tufty breakdown truck drivers were in tears.
