Check the plug on ABS unit under the battery tray. It is vulnerable to water.
Pull the locking strap towards the front of the car until you feel a click and the plug will come off easily. Check for traces of water or green coloured corrosion.
CAREFULL the small pins are delicate
Hope this helps

PS A thought. After "swimming" during the floods The speedo died and the wipers went to 'intermittent' as if stationary. After few miles it did return to normal but I am still left with ABS/TC and brake warning lights (sure its that dreaded plug and socket again - still looking for a replacement ABS unit)

Thanks. Yes I have checked this plug. No corrosion and all looked good. I sprayed plug and socket with switch cleaner (not WD40). I only seem to get the message and ABS lamp after the wipers have done a sweep. Its as though the wipers are stealing (or part of) the power to the abs module. Could be a spike I suppose.
