Default 3 speed Fan Issues

Hi guys,
I had the opportunity to have my Mk1 PPD 75 on T4 today. The guy checked the VIS motors on the 2.5 litre KV6 to find 1 not working but thats fine I have spares.

He also checked the fan operation,
1 dead
2 dead
3 working correctly, fast.
I am unsure about how exactly to fix this problem. After reading, the most common fault is the brushes and it seems these are the favourite replacements https://www.ecp.co.uk/rover75-carbon-brushes.php

I am unsure how to go about fixing this problem and where to buy the replacement parts, or do I go down the mk2 fan with gold resistor route???
I would also like to add that my current fan has written on it in white pen, 2.0 KV6??
is there a difference in fans between 2.0 and 2.5?
Thanks for looking.
