Have used all Forte additives over many years in the workshop works well on petrol and diesel also the flush and oil additive for high mileage engines. the Turbo cleaner is also a very good product. The amount of forte added to a fuel filter I found by experience is only about a third of filter capacity so lubrication is not compromised. Not vehicle associated but this week had pump changed on central heating boiler and a additive is being advised to add to your heating oil as Kerosene now has BIO added. Cengar

Ok im going to pee on mickeyboys chips now

The cleaner in the filter method works a treat, but.. adding a bottle to the fuel in the tank also works!

I had injector readings on T4 ranging from 3.2 to 6.8 on my old diesel, after three Months of using additives in the tank, they came down to 0.8 to 1.2

After a year (Adding cleaner every 6-7 tanks) They read 0.2 ish.

Instant results - in the filter
If you can wait a while - Add to the tank.

I wonder how much more additive (or less) would the filter /tank methods use for the same results?

Whilst on the additive discussion, I tried the filter method with redex, wasn't expecting anything, figures got worse!!! I don't have the data handy at the minute, but will look it out next time I am on the PC.
I do still add it to the tank though regularly.

That's a good result over a period time and in fact it only goes to show how good forte actually is, I've not done it over that time scale as I always put it into the new filter once a year.

For those of us who don't know,

Where do those results figures come from and is there a variation taken from an engine cold on tick over or a hot working temp engine etc?

Thanks.

These will be figures that are taken from T4 or in the case of Clf using TOAF, also temp figures will be circa 88 degrees, and at an idle speed of approximately 780 rpm, as injectors need to be closely balanced more idle than any other time.

On the M47R, at idle, the ECM measures the acceleration after each power stroke from the crank sensor input, and can vary the injection times to better balance the crankshaft speed.

So the injector balance readings will show if all the injectors are giving the same 'bang for your buck' or not.

Yep they sure have. I remember back in the day when I was a kid going out in one of my Uncle's coal lorries (he had a fleet of Bedford TKs and Commer 2 strokes) and being amazed when the key was removed and the engine kept running until the stop lever was pulled.

They didn't need any electrickery at all once started, let alone electronics.

I remember those old trucks, the two strokes you could hear coming from a few miles away also had a two stroke Saab

Meant to add, was reading where some folk were putting two stroke oil in their diesel tanks for lubrication I guess..
