I have just finished undertaking exactly this job. I knew virtually nothing about the Rover 75 when I started out. I enjoyed all the help I got from the members one and all. So you're not on your own. If I can summon up the energy I'll post what I found to be the trickiest bits. I'm delighted you are considering going for it. I'm 83 years old so if you are younger than this then the world's still your oyster.

Cool

A quick update as the saga unfolds. I have turned the engine by hand and found a lot of resistance. I assume there is a bent valve lurking below needing a lot of time, black coffee and bad language. The problem I have now is, I've had to move it from where I did the previous work as the owner of the garage I was using needed it back. I don't have the space to work on it at my place so I've rented another garage elsewhere just for storage purposes whilst I ponder the future. The new garage is so small the rear bumper needed to be removed just to get it in. There is no chance of working on it at this location, so it will just rest in there for a while.

The dilemma: Look for a reasonable rent on a bigger garage and play spanners every now and then until its back on the road. Everything is repairable with time money and effort, its just a question of space.
Let someone else have it who will save it and keep it on the road.
Or send it down to meet Old Hob, which I don't really want to do

To help me decide I'm off to the Welsh countryside for a week to clear my head and talk to the trees.
