Default 75CDT Clutch Replacement-North West

My clutch has failed quite suddenly today. Clutch pedal became quite soft, biting point almost on the floor and all gears extremely difficult to engage when engine is running.

How much should I expect to pay and is there anywhere or anyone in the North West who is recommended?

Thanks

Default Clutch

Mat price at dmgrs has teamed up with a garage to do clutches I think. Think its in Southport fairly near to you.

Sounds like either the master or slave cylinder has leaked fluid. The master cylinder is above the clutch pedal, and with a bit of contorsion, tube and syringe, you may be able to top it up to get you to the garage. Brake fluid level is critical, once it gets below minimum level, clutch action will reduce very quickly. Hope it is the master, - far less work involved than changing the slave. Leaky slave will show as wetness underneath at the engine/bellhousing joint.

Had a new clutch fitted by the chaps in Southport and car still going strong. I just cannot remember their name. Mat should be able to advise.

Alwyns Autocare in Chorley very good as well...ex MG/Rover staff and extremely good value for money. I have used them now regularly on 2 ZT's without complaint.
