annoying drivers door lock problem
on my fourth rover now ,a tourer with the annoying door lock problem
...have been resisting taking the door card apart because from the very learned advice here it sounds fiddly and problematic. right now drivers door will not open atall from inside or outside handles it seems like an electrical problem because after some hours it seems to self release and open normally awhile ago the cable for the inside handle broke and i fixed it avoiding removing the lock with a bit of wire and a connector strip...which worked for a time until the problem returned, then bought a new fob battery and sprayed wd 40 and seemed to be normal once more , thought i had solved it ...but it continues, before all of this ,the drivers seat would always reset itself to another position when ignition was turned off but i notice when i have the door problem this does not happen,is there a link?is this a fob issue? i have access to all the bits from my last tourer, which didnt have these problems(but some different ones!)should i take some bits off it ,or is the problem more like an ECU one,as the tailgate window ceased to open now! sorry about the long winded description but im rapidly losing faith in my fav type of car because of little difficult to solve issues thanks for looking |

I would replace the actuator, and the cable from your donor car, sounds to me like the deadlock is sticking.
Do this sooner rather than later as if the door sticks shut it’s a real pain to gain access. Get the door working as it should then see what happens with the seat issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...sprayed wd into the handle hole on outside, now its working....but you say its worn, probably true, weird electrical issues like when i press unlock on the fob sometimes all the windows come down, make me think its some circuitry somewhere causing chaos

Ahhh in that case you need a new body control module, I had a car that used to do exactly the same Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
