Not true of course...yet !! But that example highlights the idiocy that has caused so much stress and upset to those preparing to enter the real world, and al that comes with it.
No doubt a fair amount of stress and upset, but that is life. They will endure a lot more as they progress through their lives; a lot of which will not be so easily resolved.

My daughter who is wanting to be a school teacher herself has just scored A, A, A, A, that's 4x A's in four A level subjects, super impressive stuff.

She original score A, A, B, B, but with all the negative media coverage surrounding the downgrounding of students exam results, my daughters grades have now been re-accessed and the outcome is A, A, A, A. WooHoo!

Not many students even undertake four subjects due to the pressure involved, but my daughter did and it has certainly paid off.

Obviously we are SUPER proud.

Next stop, University.

Congratulations to him.

We have personal knowledge of this University as it's where one member of SWMBO'd family went. They have gone on to become a professor and head of faculty of another University.

And on a visit to them I got blow back when filling up a Rover 213 and arrived stinking of petrol and needing a bath . Fine car though.

Andy.

Well done and best of luck for the future, what's he reading?
Not quite sure but I think it could be the Beano.

I must confess to be irritated by this ongoing news in the media about the unfair results of of the university exams.
Young men and women in protest about how life is being so harsh to them.
At the same age as they were in the 1950's young folk were called up to do their national service in the forces.
Serving in places like Malaya, Korea and Suez, many loosing their lives.
Not a word of complaint from them either.
What a soft lot of todays entitled youth.
Kevin.

I guess the world has moved on since the 1950's, the world has become even more academic and people are now reliant on a higher education. In 1950 British society was still strongly influenced by war, this has long since changed for the better.

The youth of today have to stay in some form of further education until they are 18, to gain academic jobs without which today's economy would not function. These youths put in extreme amounts of hard work, and to have the rug pulled from under their feet leaves them in a position where they might not be able to recover from, so no wonder they want to complain, wouldn't you if you were a youth of today?

The whole country, indeed the entire world has had their world turned upside down. For some to say their lives have been devastated simply because they cannot go to the university of their choice is insulting to those who have lost loved ones as well as those who have lost their jobs.

The milenial generation are simply used to getting what they want, when they want and how they want it. Hopefully this may bring the message home that life lands you a bad deck of cards occasionally - deal with it.

I have to disagree... I lost my father back in April (not a covid patient) but his death was indirectly caused as GP's resources had changed.

I'm not at all insulted by what the students are quite rightly demanding, the world must carry on, after all the youth of today is the future of tomorrow; hence their actions regarding exam results.
