I believe the Kia version is not compatible with "our" KV6 units - happy to be proved wrong though.

i agree, the other issue may.be cost, if its expensive compared to the value of these now old cars, there will be a hand full of people who are enthusiasts will buy it but alot of people may have to weigh it up.

Dont forget Andy, these engines are fitted to many other makes of cars and marine craft also.

I think you are right. They will be to expensive to us mere mortals to buy.

Very soon I'll do a how to, after stripping one out I have the answers we need. It won't be expensive either and will not break again.

Thanks for that nice feedback, I didn’t realise your were QA for the forum. Save to say I’ll refrain from commenting on the content of your 11,000 plus posts.

All you need to do is reproduce an actuator arm, that’s it.
Getting the materials right and the correct composite for the heat tolerance is the tricky part.
Oh, and the production of the moulds required for mass production.

Many have been there before, there was even the metal actuator arm also which had far to many small parts for my liking. I suspect this is why DuPont Zytel was used by Mann-Hummel in the first place.

I still find it hard to comprehend and tolerate the negativity on this forum about a part of the design that has far outlived the projected life of the cars, and especially so when someone has put over £15,000 of their own money into design and production of a solution to the KV6 intake.

People who are serious enthusiasts will buy it, the rest of you will no doubt sit behind your keyboards slating the prohibitive costs. The same people who always try to cut corners and try to do things on the cheap.

The arm isn't the only problem, the Butterfly axles wear out themselves and the housing they sit in and so, the butterfly housing has to be reworked or the risk of parts entering the engines increases. It's going to be a simple fix and will be very effective, I don't do bodge or cutting corners so you can rely on my idea as a permanent fix for less than £50 in parts.

A standard manifold with no special features for what I know.
