Default Infotainment centre

I’ve seen some 75s with touch screen infotainment screens instead of the conventional radio unit. I’d like something like the one shown in the photo attached below.

If anyone has done a conversion, I’m just a little nervous on finding the correct size and one that’ll be an easy fit e.g simply just connecting wires from car to unit. is it just a job of connecting wires or is it going to be a bigger?

There have been many threads about this if you have a hunt but i use an Xtrons unit and very pleased with it

Installation is plug and play with only the swc to wire in if you want them working. You do have to cut off the plastic 'ears' but other than that its a perfect fit without any need for facia adaptors.

Looks a good unit that!

My SWC isn’t compatible with my current radio but I havnt really missed it, so wouldn’t be a problem.

It's only conecting one wire to earth and key1 to the swc wire i think and that's it.

Hi,

I have a Xtrons touch screen unit too. While the unit is great - it was supplied by Jubarelly who sorted a few questions instantly; but he's no longer trading - I've found Xtrons customer service to be totally useless.

I've asked a question about their DAB USB stick and sent a reminder but haven't had any reply at all.

This is just some info about what's happened to me. Jubbarelly was brilliant, Xtrons UK aren't. I won't be touching any of their products in the future.

Maybe others have had a different experience?

This is why i would recommend a Pioneer unit,, plenty to choose from, quality product with decent backup. Best thing is you shouldn’t need it as it is designed to work properly from the off. £200 upwards. You do have to pay for quality!!

For SWC all i needed was an Autoleads interface BM23 and connect it to two wires in the loom behind ashtray. All controls work perfectly and is a must in busy driving conditions where you don’t want to take hands off the steering wheel to fiddle with volume, station etc.

Pretty straightforward as long as you don't have a HK set up in the car (and wish to keep the sub woofer). Plenty of threads in the ICE section that can help you if you inadvertently run into trouble.

These double din units are a fine addition to your car. They look almost OEM and have plenty of features that will make your "ride" even more comfortable.

I have had NavAll units (rather unstable), Eonon (perfect but hard to get by), and two Xtrons which I still use today on a daily basis. Love them to bits

The comments above about support from Xtrons are probably an incident. I have contacted Xtrons a few times during installation (I wanted the firmware, which they supplied instantly) and they always responded within 24 hours.

Go ahead and treat yourself for Christmas. Only advice I can give you: Don't buy a cheap eBay no-name unit. You will probably end up pulling your hair out.
