Lower fuel tank v6
Hi folks,
The mot is due in the next few weeks on our 75, having got underneath and changed the exhaust for a nice quiet system and checking for any mot type issues knowing the pipes were an advisory on the last mot.. I set about cleaning them, unfortunately, the rear drivers side wheel area of pipe was bad so, new copper line made up (was hoping to pay someone else to do it but funds dictated otherwise after our cooker needed replacing). With that side now done (managed to get the original steel pipe off at both unions and used that as a template for a neat finish. Issue, I'm wanting to replace both rears, having seen how the pipe goes up the side of the tank and across to the passenger side rear wheel, I need to drop the tank to allow access. Is it a case of just placing the jack under the tank and out in place and slackening off the bolts and lowering just enough to do what's needed or will I have to begin taking off other hoses and lines etc? Thanks Rob

It's possible to route the pipe AROUND the tank. There are posts on the forum where members have done just that.---However, I'm sorry, but I don't know how to find them.
No doubt someone will be along very soon with that info.--- |

Just undo the tank strap and rest the tank on the exhaust, you will have enough room to get to the clips to remove and refit the brake pipes.

Thanks for the responses, I'll try and find the posts just out of interest.
Trikey, so I'm okay to just lower the tank on to the exhaust without having to undo any other pipework or wiring? Seems too easy Thanks Rob
