And rail travel in most of Europe is much cheaper per mile than in the UK.

The trouble is all western governments all falling over themselves to be greener than the other. How can building Hs2 with its wholesale green site destruction be justified and then on the other hand they are all jumping on the close the coal mine in Cumbria down mob. This latest lovefest at COP26 is another example, where all the billionaires of the world will fly in to agree and write themselves an even bigger green cheque.

ClientEarth have got their lawyers onto that coal operation in Cumbria and their lawyers have welcomed Drax Power’s announcement that it is abandoning plans to build a gas mega-plant in North Yorkshire.ClientEarth took the UK Government to court over its decision to approve a 3.6GW gas plant in Selby, which came to a head in a Court of Appeal ruling last month. https://www.clientearth.org/latest/p...r-the-climate/

They've also just announced a trade-in deal for owners of old cars for a $2795 e-bike

I wonder when the ClientEarth lawyers will be taking the Chinese government to court for opening more coal fired power stations ?

I know someone who lives in the US and he reckons it will all blow over. They are still making V8's over there and a car that does over 25mpg is considered an economy model as Gas is under $3 a gallon.

He was also saying any government in the US that introduces the green measures that are happening here will be voted out very quickly. A few years ago Gas prices were 50% more than they are at the moment and there were protests.

With Biden rejoining the Paris accord https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...mate-pact.html & a Blue senate & a $2trillion green tidal wave shift to electricity away from carbon based fuels, the big money/investors are going to go where the technology is shifting to. https://www.forbes.com/sites/alanohn...d-ev-startups/
