Evening gang, I have been visiting mum every day since her admission to hospital the second time. She remains in a contented state but is most certainly not compus mentus, she doesn't make conversation any more , just answers questions or replies to statements with that's interesting or good ; at one time she would talk to anyone about anything., she enjoys watching the tv but I doubt she will be taking in what's happening. I noticed tonight she said a couple of things that just didn't make any sense at all. I made a video call to the family so they could see her and she them which she enjoyed but she thought she was looking at a photograph. Go back to April 9th and she was a very different person to rhe one she is now, very hard to take in

Just go along with whatever your Mum says. I know it’s not the same but it makes life a bit easier for you and your Mum will think you are understanding her. Life can be cruel at times, even worse in these uncertain days. Now you take care. Look after yourself. We’ll be having that beer along with Roger soon.

Remember it well - up to my mid teenage years we lived in Barton just outside Cambridge. It was there I really learned to love cycling. No hills and if you were lucky enough to have the wind behind you gliding along was effortless. Less fun the other way tho’.
Then we moved to Hastings on the South Coast and that first Saturday I flew down from “The Ridge” to the sea front. Great fun down hill all the way - Far less fun on the way back. Blue Skies here this morning - yet another Frost. Likely to be a bad year for some of my plants |

Coldest April for 60 years I read the other day Jeff. Due to it being very dry supposedly. Have to say I haven’t noticed that as my three water butts are full and the ground is still very wet, heavy and cold.
Could be a sign of a blisteringly hot summer to come. |

Morning everyone
We have blue sky and sunshine, yesterday we intermittent showers but managed to get some gardening done. But heavy rain is expected this afternoon.

Morning all.
Overcast but dry here. Still definitely chilly. Second Pfizer jab later on. Wonder if I'll have any side effects . Pretty much nothing from the first. Rich - hang in there. My mum was like that. I particularly remember a very detailed and descriptive "conversation" about her day out in Bourton on the Water "yesterday." Lovely cuppa with a slice of cake in a tea room etc. It was fine, except that she'd been in a hospital bed in Queen Elizabeth in Brum for several weeks after a stroke. We just went along with the flow and she was quite content. Other parts of the family just had to keep on "correcting" her which led to serious frustration and grief on her part. But that's a very long story. Have a good Bank Holiday everyone. |
