Default Weird passenger front door unlocking problem

Hia. I have searched the forums but not found anything relevant, so sorry if this has already been discussed.

Front passenger door. Will lock with the rest using key remote but won't unlock. Won't lock or unlock using button on central console.

If it didn't lock or unlock at all automatically then I'd suspect the actuator, but seeing as it does lock using the remote, the actuator is obviously working. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is?

The boot, will open using drivers button release but remote won't open it, again, any ideas?

Thanks, Ali.

No help to you but adding post to subscibe to thread.
My Pass door locks & unlocks with fob, locks with center button but won`t unlock with center button. I replaced switch and made no difference.
Watching keenly for a solution.

All the central locking is controlled by the Body Control Unit so the first thing to do really is to get a wiring diagram and check out the continuity of the wiring to/from the various components that are at fault. A door lock fault could well be a broken wire in the body/door hinge area.
Of course if you can get hold of another BCU and swap it over that'd be a quicker check to see if this is generating your faults. It is the common denominator.

I have used the search facility extensively in the few days I've been a member here. I have been a forum admin elsewhere since 2004 and am well versed in finding my way around forums. However my problem with the front passenger door different to the other threads I have found which is why I started this new thread.

Ali.

It is your pass side solenoid, its operating in the close but not the open direction

Replace it with a breakers unit

It has always been the solenoids on the ones I have seen.

This problem has just struck me! thanks for the advice; will now hunt for where the solenoid is and how to access it! Its bad enough having SWMBO in the front passenger seat, whne she cant get in 1st time trying the door handle I get a dark look. If she gets the hump and sits in the back!!!
