Default It could be the end of the road if this doesnt work

The Boss and me have had a chat tonight, when I say chat that's not strictly accurate- as a chat would infer a two way conversation- and this one was decidedly one way and not in my favour.

The current wife has expressed a slight concern using her entire vocal range and extensive vocabulary about the spending on Greyscale or as she quite eloquently put it that "Old banger that's draining our bank account" actually she didn't say old banger she more equated the old girl to a hessian receptacle containing faeces.

Greyscales trials and tribulations in the short time I have owned her have been well documented on these forums so will not repeat them on this thread, suffice to say after a long and some what civilised one way discussion (Not), We are going to try to save up and get the replacement Radiator kindly donated by MarinaBrian fitted, along with the PAS Pump I already have and a new ball joint that Greyscale needs.

It will probably take us a couple months to save the money to get this done , and wifey has suggested that if anything else comes too light in the meantime that we should consider getting rid of it.

When I say "suggested" and "consider" she didn't put it in exactly those terms but the censor filter on here I suspect will not allow me to post the exact transcript.

So Greyscale is in last chance saloon and I suspect along with her my chances of ever owning a ZT 190 again.

So cross your fingers nothing else goes wrong- Me I am off to get some asprin all that shouting has given me a headache

Got everything crossed that all works out for you, and that you can have a long, trouble free period. You know what a great car the ZT can be, hopefully it will repay you "in spades". Good luck 👍👍👍

If she's had k seal in, as per your other thread, don't blame the old girl too much. My 1.8 has certainly frayed my nerves because of the stuff, but I think I have finally got there. She was boiling up after two thermostats, new head and liners and numerous flushes. New rad and yet another thermostat and shed purring. Fingers crossed it works for Greyscale too!

You have my sympathy - we reached a similar position with our 1.8 tourer.

The car was absolutely concours in all respects except for the fact that it very rarely got us where we needed to go.

I wish you luck.

My old ZT 1.8T, the previous owner's wife called it the "black widow" because all it did was take his money.

I did like your terminology "the current wife", does that mean you were threatened?

I'm lucky I'm not married and have no intention of ever doing that again, tried it once and that was enough!

Still I can understand your issues but wouldn't it be better to set up a pot purely for keeping the car, yes they can be troublesome at times but then all cars can be.
There are lots of plus points for keeping the 190, going to shows and meeting other owners and trips away with your wife.

Surely she can see that?
