Would a moderator please look into a post which has disappeared regarding clutch fitting in the Reading area .A comment was made on the thread regarding the standard of workmanship by a trader who I have the utmost respect for outlining issues with another trader on the forum .The issues were short cuts and the use of cheap substandard parts .If this is correct surely it is important that members are made aware .Deleting posts certainly does the members no favours whatsoever .

This is a topic which has been talked about before..
As it happens Brian deleted the post himself with no mod involvement to the best of my knowledge

You can delete your own posts. If you look at the post in question you will see it was deleted by Brian and not a mod

Anyone can delete there own posts as Brian seems to have done. But individuals can't close another persons thread! Only mods could do this or the person who started the thread could request it.

Sorry, you've lost me.

I had thought you were talking aboutthis thread about clutches in the tech help forum. My assumption was based on that you had asked the same question twice in that thread.
Reading what you have posted suggests that an entire thread has been deleated. In which case I will ask my fellow mods if they have done so a I can't see any deleated thread notifications over recent days

To clarify, members can only delete their own posts, not others. However, if the opening post of a long thread is deleted by the thread starter, it will automatically delete the entire thread. It is not something we set up nor anything we can prevent from happening, it's a feature of the vbulletin software and always has been.

It maybe perhaps that if a whole thread has disappeared, it could be because the OP deleted his opening post. Unless you can give us more clues to the name/ nature/ forum section location or confirmed contributors of the thread you are talking about, I won't be able to investigate further I'm afraid.
