Default 2001 75 v6 connie no keys!

Hello everyone,
My old rover 75 (now my dads) ran out of mot and has sat on my parents drive for nearly two years.
During this time, the one and only key we had, has been lost.
Cannot find it anywhere.

What are our options?
Because theres no mot ( it does have insurance covering the car) but getting keys covered under insurance is out o the question.

Thanks
Rob

Best man to speak to would be BigRuss, he's less than 20 miles away in Liversedge.

ordered a new key for my 75 connie last Thursday from ex Rover dealer, they need a copy of your V5 as proof of ownership. New key and programming to car £255.60 inc VAT.

Why did you do that Martin?

I would have thought a spare would have been cheaper on here

No one anywhere near to me to take the car to, would have cost a lot more in time and fuel to go to get a new key. I was really pleased that you sorted circuit board on my only key, but felt that a spare was needed just in case. Ballard are 20 minutes away.
